JobSummary

The Arch Catastrophe Management team is seeking a Vice President, Business Engagement & Delivery Manager to lead the integration of catastrophe analytics into business decision-making across the organization. This role will serve as the critical link between analytics, underwriting, and actuarial teams-ensuring that insights are not only delivered, but fully embedded in how we manage portfolio risk, capital, and performance. The ideal candidate combines deep catastrophe analytics expertise with strong business acumen, platform thinking, and a proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and impact.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnership
    Serve as the primary interface between Catastrophe Management and business leaders (Underwriting Leadership, Actuarial, and external partners), ensuring alignment of analytics delivery with evolving portfolio, underwriting, and capital management needs.

  • Delivery Leadership & Operating Rigor
    Own end-to-end delivery of catastrophe analytics across business lines-establishing strong operating rhythms, SLAs, and feedback loops to ensure consistency, timeliness, and continuous improvement in analytics delivery.

  • Executive Reporting & Insight Delivery
    Lead the design and delivery of high-impact, decision-grade reporting-translating complex catastrophe analytics into clear, actionable insights for underwriting, actuarial, and third-party stakeholders on a monthly and quarterly cadence.

  • Analytics Strategy & Roadmap Ownership
    Define and oversee the long-term strategy for catastrophe modeling, analytics delivery, and reporting-ensuring alignment with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and the firm's evolving view of risk. This includes our long-term AI strategy and approach for rapid tool development.

  • Portfolio Optimization & Decision Support
    Partner closely with actuarial and various members of the catastrophe management team to develop tools, methodologies, and frameworks that optimize portfolio make-up, risk selection, and reinsurance decision-making.

  • Governance & Analytical Integrity
    Promote strong governance, transparency, and consistency in analytics-ensuring outputs are defensible, aligned across stakeholders, and support executive and regulatory decision-making.

  • External Leadership & Industry Engagement
    Represent Catastrophe Management externally through industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership-strengthening the firm's market presence and influencing best practices in catastrophe analytics.

Success in this role will be defined by

  • Seamless alignment between Catastrophe Management and business needs

  • Increased adoption and reliance on analytics in underwriting decisions

  • Faster, more consistent delivery of portfolio insights

  • A scalable, modern analytics ecosystem enabling real-time decision-making

Qualifications

  • 10+ yearsof experience in catastrophe modeling, analytics, or exposure management within the (re)insurance industry

  • Deep expertise with vendor catastrophe models (e.g., AIR/Verisk, KCC)

  • Strong understanding of natural catastrophe perils and their application to underwriting and portfolio management

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across underwriting, actuarial, and analytics functions

  • Experience building or scaling analytics platforms, data products, or reporting ecosystems

  • Strong knowledge of portfolio management, reinsurance structures, and capital implications of catastrophe risk

  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable business impact

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into clear business insights

  • AI curiosity required

  • Estimated Travel up to20%

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

For Boston, NYC: $174,800 - $271,446/year
For Hartford: $157,400 - $244,301/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
