Koch Fertilizer is looking for a 2027 Summer Instrumentation Technician Intern to join our Maintenance team in Enid, Oklahoma. The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2027.

What You Will Do
  • Shadow experienced instrumentation technicians and gain hands-on experience supporting equipment reliability, maintenance, and plant operations.
  • Assist with the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of process instrumentation and control devices, including transmitters, level indicators, and control valves.
  • Participate in daily planning meetings and support the completion of scheduled maintenance and work orders throughout the facility.
  • Learn how to document maintenance activities by recording log notes, updating equipment records, and closing work orders.
  • Develop the ability to interpret technical documents, including loop drawings, instrument documentation, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Support commissioning, testing, and reliability initiatives while building practical skills in instrumentation and process control systems.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
  • Confined space entry may be required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a relevant degree, certificate, or workforce training program in Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, Automation & Robotics, HVAC, Electrician, or similar program
  • Eligible for full-time employment before or by May 2028
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
  • Willing and able to meet all physical requirements

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment, engines, rotating equipment, or maintenance systems
  • Experience working with pressure transmitters, automated valves, etc.
  • An ISA Certification such as Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST)
