Job description

Job Summary:
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the Constellation Tools team, you'll build user interfaces and backend systems to support the operations of Starlink satellites, ensuring operational safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Develop well-architected, highly reliable, responsive, and performant web applications to command, control, and monitor fleets of assets

• Create and apply techniques, tools, and infrastructure that decrease software complexity and maintenance over time
• Maintain high software standards and software engineering best practices across the full stack
• Regularly sit with Operators to obtain firsthand feedback of how the team's products are used and what improvements can be made
• Demonstrate a strong attitude to learn and adapt quickly, diving deep into new technologies as needed to become an expert in frontend and backend technologies alike (while prior expertise in key areas is a plus)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors degree in STEM & 1+ year of industry and/or internship experience; OR 3+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a STEM degree.
• Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission critical deadlines
• Ability to work on an 'on-call' basis on a weeklong rotational schedule
Preferred:
• Frontend experience in Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework
• Programming experience in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented language
• Experience with PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar relational database technologies
• Production experience with infrastructure tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery systems
• Expertise in profiling and improving application performance
• Experience with build systems (Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, Gradle) and package management tools (pip, npm)
• Strong attention to detail
• A drive to deliver exceptional operations tools and willingness to own all outcomes
