Description

San Diego Humane Society is hiring Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) for our Oceanside Medical team!

As an RVT, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our "Staying at Zero" strategic initiatives and providing high-quality care and assistance to veterinarians in diagnosing, treating, and managing animal patients. Your technical expertise, combined with your passion for animals and people, will help us provide the highest level of care.

This role delivers service at the gold standard level in alignment with the SDHS Way, to meet the needs of animals and the people who love them by leading with compassion, finding creative solutions, providing personalized care and building connections. What you'll do:

  • Administer treatments and procedures & prepare and administer anesthetics
  • Assist staff veterinarians with exams, procedures and monitoring animals before, during and post-surgery
  • Perform emergency procedures (within the scope of a licensed RVT) as instructed by staff veterinarian
  • Support training of new RVTs and Vet Assistants, as well as animal services staff members, volunteers, and interns

What we're looking for:

  • California Registered Veterinary Technician licensure required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical and/or shelter experience in veterinary environment required.

Location & Hours: Based at our Oceanside Campus. This position works a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule.

Pay: Starting range is between $26.60 – $29.61 per hour. RVTs at our Escondido and Oceanside campuses are paid a location premium for a minimum hourly rate of $29.26.

The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
