Responsibilities for SkillBridge Program Participation
  • Goals – Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands‑on experience that results in the potential to convert to a full‑time opportunity at the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high‑speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.

  • Objectives – Service Members who complete the SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align with the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission “Defining Possible” on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands‑on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

  • Outcome – Offer service‑members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.

SkillBridge Eligibility
  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
What You Will Get to Do

As an integral part of the Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Section, you will apply MS&A techniques with a focus on Mission Engineering while accelerating the delivery of capabilities to our customers through either mission studies, system‑of‑system trades or performance analysis using credible modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis processes to assess system architectures that best deliver the effects, data, and capabilities demanded by tomorrow’s missions.

  • Perform analysis‑of‑alternatives and mission architecture trades across offensive and defensive orders of battle, formations, and equipment including laydowns, platforms, and loadouts of sensors, effectors, and weapons as well as communications, command, and control segments among combatants and the impacts of the tactics and strategies used.
  • Utilize Modeling, Simulation, Experimentation, and Analysis (MSE&A) frameworks to evaluate Concepts of Employments (CONEMPS), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and Design Reference Missions (DRM) to affect system design and optimization.
  • Assess capabilities by linking system requirements to mission threads, proving operative interfaces and their connections that enable mission execution, verification/validation planning of system elements performing missions, and system integration functions during development.
  • Plan demonstration and delivery of mission effects, data, or capabilities during operations and provide long‑term sustainment and mission augmentation support over the life of systems.
  • Develop large‑scale data analytics, probabilities, and statistics, including the application of design of experiment techniques for evaluation of system and mission performance.
  • Innovate to solve problems and identify improvements across MSE&A products.
  • Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis activities.
  • Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.
  • Model operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and recommends alternative architectures.
  • Develops, integrates, and uses advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.

This requisition may be filled as a Skillbridge Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer or Skillbridge Senior Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer.

This position is contingent upon contract award, the successful transfer of an active U.S Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain/maintain special program access (SAP).

Basic Qualifications for Skillbridge Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance; Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis for operations, including the use of analytical modeling tools like MATLAB, STK, or similar environments.
  • Experience with combat simulation environments such as AFSIM and/or Brawler, ensuring realistic and effective simulation outcomes.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, C/C++, as well as scripting in Linux/Windows environments, and experienced in statistics, design of experiments, and high-performance computing.
  • Experience with DoD testing and acquisition principles, with hands‑on experience in developmental testing, planning, and execution of weapon tests.
Basic Qualifications for Skillbridge Senior Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or a PhD with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance; Ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis for operations, including the use of analytical modeling tools like MATLAB, STK, or similar environments.
  • Experience with combat simulation environments such as AFSIM and/or Brawler, ensuring realistic and effective simulation outcomes.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, C/C++, as well as scripting in Linux/Windows environments, and experienced in statistics, design of experiments, and high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain experience in simulations of RF, EOIR, Communications, or related systems.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering and Integration & Test processes.
  • Experience with Agile and/or SAFe methodologies.

Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
