Job description

The Manager of Nursing Professional Practice provides enterprise level leadership to advance nursing excellence, professional practice consistency, and workforce sustainability across the organization. This role is accountable for driving measurable outcomes related to nursing quality, professional governance, accreditation readiness, and clinician development through strategic oversight of Magnet standards, the ANCC accredited Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP), the Nurse Resource Pool, and patient care services workforce internship programs.

By partnering with nursing executives, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary stakeholders, the Manager ensures nursing practice is aligned with evidence-based standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities. This leader strengthens the professional practice environment, supports a resilient and future ready nursing workforce, and positions the organization as an employer of choice through sustainable practice models, leadership development, and continuous improvement in nursing sensitive outcomes.

Experience - 2 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

Education - Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field

Licensure - BLS Certification; Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Strategic Leadership & Professional Practice
    Provides vision, direction, and oversight for nursing professional practice across the market.
    Leads the development, implementation, and sustainment of a Professional Practice Model.
    Ensures alignment of nursing practice with organizational strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based standards.
    Promotes a culture of shared governance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    Facilitate the Nursing Research Council applications and convene key stakeholders to serve on the Nursing Research council.


Magnet Program Leadership
    Serves as the organizational lead for Magnet Nursing Excellence standards, performs a gap analysis and preparation of units and team members for Magnet designation and re-designation.
    Oversees Magnet documentation, evidence collection, and application submission.
    Leads Magnet steering committees and domain-specific work groups.
    Ensures ongoing compliance with ANCC Magnet standards.
    Monitors and reports nursing-sensitive indicators and outcomes.


Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) Program
    Oversee the ANCC-accredited PTAP program, ensuring all new graduate nurses participate in a structured, evidence-based transition into practice. 
    Maintain program accreditation, support curriculum development, and monitor outcomes to ensure successful integration of new nurses and high retention rates.


Nurse Resource Pool (NRP) Management
    Provides strategic and operational oversight of the Nurse Resource Pool.
    Develop staffing models to ensure flexible, efficient deployment of nursing resources across the system.
    Collaborates with nursing leadership to address staffing gaps, reduce agency utilization, and improve workforce efficiency.
    Establishes competencies, onboarding processes, and performance expectations for resource pool staff.
    Monitors productivity, cost management, and quality outcomes.


Student & Internship Programs
    Leads development and coordination of student nurse sponsorship programs and patient care services internships.
    Collaborates with academic institutions to support pipeline development and workforce sustainability.
    Oversee onboarding, mentorship, and evaluation of student and intern experiences.
    Develop structured programs to support new graduate transition to practice.
    Promotes the organization as an employer of choice for emerging nursing talent.

Leadership Development & Staff Engagement
    Promotes nursing professional development, certification, and career advancement.
    Supports shared governance structures and councils.
    Enhances nurse engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
