Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch is recruiting an Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) to join our Medical Genetics and Metabolism team.  This position will evaluate, diagnose, manage, treat, and counsel patients of all ages with hereditary disorders.   The specialist will provide diagnostic services for establishing diagnosis utilizing cytogenetic, molecular, genomic, and biochemical testing.  The physician will implement disease specific interventions such as surveillance protocols, enzyme replacement therapy, gene therapies, etc.  As an academic appointment the provider will provide education in the form of lectures and rotation experience for a variety of trainees including medical students, physician assistant students, genetic counseling students, pediatric residents, maternal fetal medicine fellows, surgical oncology fellows, and dietetic interns.


MINIMUN QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate should have completed an approved residency or fellowship training program in Medical Genetics and have a Texas Medical License without restrictions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Genetics
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Biochemical Genetics

SALARY:

Commensurate with experience.
