Job description

Purpose: Provides therapeutic counseling and case management to clients of

Synergy who have drug and alcohol related or co-occurring disorders.

Reports to: Executive Director

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, conducts, and accurately documents therapeutic

counseling and case management for clients in Synergy’s residential

program.

• Develops and maintains individualized treatment plans for clients and

makes revisions as needed.

• Consults with clinical staff regarding program activities that are

consistent with the needs and capabilities of clients.

• Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about clients through

interviews, group therapy, and individual counseling for therapeutic

planning.

• Assists clients in understanding and overcoming drug and alcohol

dependency and behavioral health problems through 12 step program

and other therapeutic interventions.

• Completes and maintains accurate documentation to insure compliance

with policies and regulations.

General Duties & Responsibilities

• Notifies pertinent staff of important information.

• Attends required meetings.

• Performs tasks and duties as assigned.

• Maintains knowledge of agency’s policies and procedures.

• Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

• Ability to apply appropriate judgment and care in the performance of

duties.

• Adheres to all federal, state, and local health codes and standards.

• Remains in compliance with required qualifications, certifications,

licenses, trainings, education, registration, etc.

• Acts as a liaison for the agency.

• Maintains accurate client records.

Required Experience:

• Master Degree required or

• Licensed Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Counselor (LADAC)

• Minimum of 1 yr. experience working with co-occurring population.

Established in 1989, Synergy Treatment Center provides an effective 6 month to 1 year residential program to individuals who have a primary alcohol and drug and/or co-occurring problem and a desire to overcome their addiction. The name Synergy is derived from the Greek word synergos, meaning a combined action or operation. Synergy has formed synergos in the Memphis community by creating an extremely effective and necessary public-private partnership model. Synergy is licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to provide residential, outpatient, substance use and mental health services to adult men and women in need of treatment.
