Job Summary:
Provides the transportation of Behavioral health patients from the hospital to the assigned behavioral health facility or crisis center after the patient has been medically cleared. The behavioral Health transporter will arrive at the hospital within 60 minutes of activation and use the designated vehicle to safely and compassionately transport Behavioral Health Patients to the assigned facility.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Transports Behavioral health patients utilizing company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.Communicates with dispatch to acknowledge activation, schedule progress and to receive instructions.Be vigilant and alert for activities, which could result in injury to a person or damage of property.Communicate effectively with diverse people including patients, visitors, employees and medical staffReport any unsafe conditions and actions taken to supervisor.Maintains a professional image and attitude in regards to patients, visitors and coworkers.Completes daily vehicle pretrip and post trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.Assists clients and patients as needed to safely complete the transfer.Performs other duties as assignedComplies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma / GED General
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • GADL - Georgia Driver's License
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
AVADE - De-escalation Training (Required for BH staff) within 30 Days Required andAVADE Universal Precautions within 30 Days Required andAVADE - Workplace Violence Prvtn Trng within 30 Days Required and
Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 1 year experience as a driver. No more than 1 moving violation or 1 at fault accident within the past 3 years Required
