Job description

SubsidiarySteel DynamicsOverview

This position is responsible for providing IT server and network support. Duties include maintaining and troubleshooting servers, networks, storage, wireless, VMware, and all other infrastructure items. Implementing security best practices and documenting infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade, and secure network infrastructure. Cisco, Fortinet and Ubiquiti switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade server infrastructure including VMware Environment, and physical Windows and Linux servers.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Manage Exchange and Office365 servers and mail flow.
  • Azure and EntraID management.
  • Project planning
  • Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Backup planning, design, and maintenance
  • Network and Server software application installs and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues along with documenting resolutions.
  • Assign work orders, follow up on status, and communicate status to users.
  • Periodically travel to remote locations for projects and/or assist other IT technicians with troubleshooting and project deployments
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and provide excellent Customer Service
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in computer information systems, networking, or related field of study.
  • Knowledge of various versions of Microsoft Windows Server OS.
  • Networking experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Experience with VMware configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and work well in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and highly motivated
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Customer service oriented

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical work experience.
  • CompTIA Certifications: A+, Security+, Network+, Linux +, or Server+
  • Cisco and/or Fortinet Certifications
  • Hands-on working experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Ubiquiti networking devices
  • Hands-on working experience with phone systems.
  • Experience with multi domain/forest Microsoft Active Directory environments.
  • Experience with Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Oracle Linux)
  • The ideal candidate would be energetic, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Flexibility to work after hours or weekends when needed.
