(Frederick, Maryland)
  • Unpaid Internship Position
  • Candidates MUST reside in or commute daily to Frederick, Maryland

The Role:
The Frederick Flying Cows professional basketball team internship program is an experience and opportunity like no other in professional sports! As the Fall Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and receive tangible real-world experience with direct responsibility in the organization. You will not only receive the opportunity to learn and observe how a growing professional sports organization operates in the offseason... but also be a part of the Flying Cows as we head into our fourth season in the 94x50 league!
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and will be open to performing a wide variety of tasks in order to learn what is required to run the day-to-day operations of a professional basketball team and organization. We strongly prefer candidates who are either from or currently living in the Frederick area.
Interns are required to work all Frederick Flying Cows offseason events, youth programs, and community appearances, as directed by the General Manager.
The internship program is an unpaid position that can be used for college credit. The role is entry level and candidates must be willing to work at a high level in order to successfully fulfill their duties and gain a plethora of experience.
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON OPPORTUNITY! Candidates must already reside in the Frederick area and be willing to commute daily or fully relocate to the area.
Who are the Flying Cows?

The league is positioning itself as an alternative option for players who might be playing in professional leagues overseas and are hoping to build their careers towards playing against the highest possible competition. The quality of play in the 94x50 league is high - just a notch below the level of the NBA G-league. Heading into our fourth season, the Flying Cows have built a successful on-court product as well as a one-of-a-kind brand off the court.
What you can expect...
We are a small team, meaning our interns will work cross-functionally, be involved in all aspects of the organization, and have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas. With that, the Fall Operations Intern will prioritize the logistical, event, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps the organization running during a critical offseason stretch as we prepare to launch the 2027 season. As the Flying Cows Fall Operations Intern, you may work on the following, but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Camp & Event Operations: Assist in the setup, execution, and tear-down of Junior Flyers camps, clinics, community events, and youth basketball programs throughout the fall.
  • Vendor & Facility Coordination: Help coordinate with vendors, facilities, and community partners on scheduling, equipment, and logistics for offseason events.
  • Merchandise & Inventory: Assist in managing the Flying Cows merchandise program, including inventory tracking, restocking, order fulfillment, and pop-up sales at community events.
  • Data & Reporting: Help track camp registrations, event attendance, and post-event recaps. Assist in maintaining organizational databases and reporting.
  • Youth Program Support: Support the day-to-day operations of Junior Flyers programs including registration, communication with parents, sign-in/sign-out, and on-site logistics.
  • Sponsor Activation Support: Assist the sales and marketing team with the operational side of sponsor-driven initiatives at offseason events, ensuring partners receive value and visibility.
  • Season Prep: Assist with early operations planning for the 2027 season including gameday logistics, staffing plans, ticketing setup, and vendor coordination.
  • General Administrative Support: Support the General Manager and Operations Manager with day-to-day tasks that keep the organization running.

Basic Expectations & Requirements

More about Frederick Flying Cows
The 94x50 league regular season runs from March - May, with playoffs in June.
