Job Description
The Assistant Coach/Men's Baseball assists the Head Coach with the overall operation of the college's intercollegiate baseball team for the spring and fall seasons.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with tryouts for team formation after August 1, but before the beginning of the fall season; and not later than January 15 for the spring season.
  • Assists with distribution and collection of all baseball equipment and uniforms.
  • Assists with conducting a sufficient number of practice sessions each week, with each session lasting approximately one and one-half hours.
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed while coaching.
  • Serves as liaison between the Director/Athletics & Recreation and opposing teams.
  • Ensures appropriate conduct is observed by all team members and personnel at both "home" and "away" games and at all practice sessions.
  • Assists with keeping statistics at all games or supervising manager/statistician as necessary.
  • Assists with organization and administration of WPCC or Regional baseball championships, when championships are hosted by the college.
  • Assists with organization and administration as possible of camps/clinics run by the College, including but not limited to indoor clinics and summer camps/clinics.
  • Assists with recruitment of team members from the college's general student population.
  • Assists with recruitment of team members from area high schools, in accordance with the college's recruitment policy.
  • Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
  • Performs other assistant coaching duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field desired; recreation/physical education major preferred.
  • Previous basketball coaching and/or teaching experience desired.
  • Must possess or obtain first-aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to perform the essential responsibilities/functions of this position.
