Description

Summary:

Design and oversee the development, installation and operation of machines, equipment or systems taking into account cost, availability of materials, strength and maintenance requirements, safety and manufacturability, appearance, impact on the user and on the environment. This position will create assembly drawings, bills of materials and develop production drawings per engineering layouts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Perform design calculations and prepare equipment and/or material specifications.

Will have the opportunity to perform designs using Autocad, SolidWorks and Simulation (FEA) software.

Develop production drawings per engineering layouts and create assembly drawings for plant assembly and product manuals.

Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.

Coordinate activities concerned with the technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Perform duties reasonably assigned by Engineering Manager


Competencies:

PC applications including Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

AutoCAD and Solidworks experience.

Ability to measure accurately using machine tools.

MRP applications experience.

Excel in interpersonal and written communication and organizational skills.

Mathematical skills such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Must have initiative, be willing to work independently and as part of a team, possess a strong desire to learn, and enjoy computing and technical design, be practical and creative.


Education and/or Experience Preferred

Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering or other related field.
