The ideal candidate can apply engineering judgment within defined procedures and practices, communicate clearly with project teams, and contribute hands-on technical work in a collaborative product-development environment.

This role is based in our Niles, IL headquarters and will be hybrid, on-site 4 days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Design, simulate, prototype, test, and troubleshoot analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal circuitry for professional audio products.
  • Develop and support printed circuit board assemblies, including schematic design, PCB layout, PCBA bring-up, circuit modification, and design verification.
  • Perform circuit verification, system/subsystem testing, power verification, signal integrity checks, audio performance testing, and functional testing.
  • Analyze and resolve circuit defects, performance issues, compatibility issues, and hardware problems discovered during development, production, or in the field.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, test procedures, verification results, design specifications, issue summaries, and supporting product-development documentation.
  • Support cross-functional product-development activities with hardware, embedded/software, mechanical, acoustics, automated test, system verification, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and compliance.
  • Support manufacturing test, automated test development, board programming, test procedure development, and production-readiness activities as needed.
Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of digital circuitry, including digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, networking, ADCs, DACs, DSPs, FPGAs, and related digital components.
  • Knowledge of audio-related circuits, audio systems, and audio measurement techniques.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and other electrical or audio measurement tools.
  • Experience with schematic CAD tools, PCB layout processes, and SPICE or other circuit simulation tools.
  • Hands-on soldering, circuit modification, prototype assembly, or circuit repair skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work activities, collaborate with peers and project staff, and incorporate feedback from other team members.
  • Preferred: experience with programming or test scripting for hardware verification, automation, data collection, or analysis.
