Job description

Job Title: Analytical Development ScientistJob Description

As an Analytical Development Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and testing of pharmaceutical materials. Your responsibilities will include preparing analytical reagents, conducting routine chemical and physical testing, and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and document your findings accurately.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare analytical reagents and solutions as per directions.
  • Conduct routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, and stability samples using both internally developed and compendial test methods.
  • Operate automated glass washing equipment and maintain glassware stock in laboratories.
  • Dispose of laboratory waste following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
  • Document and communicate test results clearly and accurately.
  • Organize and maintain work area, instrumentation, and testing materials.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and safety guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Experience performing chemical or physical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic, or other analytical techniques.
  • Experience in a GMP laboratory is preferred.
  • HPLC Assay/Dissolution experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of safe work practices and knowledge of chemical hazards.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed procedures and instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to solving problems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations for tasks like test reliability determination and variance analysis.
Work Environment

This role requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination to move around office locations. The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch periodically for prolonged periods is needed. Physical manipulation of light to medium weights (10-35 pounds) and arm, hand, and finger dexterity are essential. You will need visual acuity to use a keyboard, monitor, and operate equipment. The position is initially on a 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with starting times between 7:30-9am for the first three months of training. Remote work opportunities may become available after training.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
