Job Overview: Fidelity Bank is seeking an experienced and motivated IBM i Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance our core banking platform and IBM i infrastructure. In this role, you will help ensure the reliability, security, performance, and availability of one of the Bank's most critical technology environments. Responsibilities include system administration, operational processing, backup and recovery, disaster recovery preparedness, and continuous platform improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional with IBM i experience who is looking to deepen their technical expertise while playing a key role in supporting essential banking operations and services.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for:

  • Administer, maintain, and support IBM i systems, Power Systems infrastructure, operational toolsets, and third party applications.
  • Monitor system reliability, performance, security, and availability for IBM i systems tied to core banking operations.
  • Support job scheduling, batch processing, backups, replication monitoring, high availability status checks, and workload completion.
  • Support core banking applications and related operational functions, including payment processing, file transmissions, interfaces, reporting, and daily processing activities.
  • Assist with IBM i security administration, authority management, access controls, audit support, and remediation activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, participate in incident response, and help identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to process improvement through automation, scripting, standard operating procedures, documentation, and operational consistency.
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, business partners, and cross functional stakeholders to support projects and daily operations.

Requirements for the position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of IBM i , iSeries or AS400 administration.
  • Working knowledge of backup and recovery operations, job scheduling, batch processing, system monitoring, and high availability concepts.
  • Familiarity with CL, SQL, RPG, Ansible, APIs, or scripting and automation tools.
  • Ability to support incidents, planned maintenance, disaster recovery exercises, and after hours support as needed.
  • Active participation in an on call rotation.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with BRMS, MIMIX, Fortra, Precisely, or related IBM i operational tools.
  • Experience with FIS Horizon or other core banking platforms.
  • Experience participating in disaster recovery testing, system upgrades, PTF activity, automation, or process improvement efforts.
  • Experience supporting IBM i platforms in production environments; banking, financial services, or other regulated industry experience is helpful.
  • IBM Power Systems certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Security+, Network+, or equivalent certification.
