Internship Architectural Model Making information

What is an internship architectural model making?

An Internship in Architectural Model Making typically involves assisting architects and designers in creating physical scale models of buildings and structures. Interns learn to use various materials like cardboard, foam, and 3D printed parts to accurately represent architectural designs. They gain hands-on experience with tools, model-making techniques, and sometimes digital fabrication equipment. This role provides valuable insights into the architectural design process and helps develop technical and creative skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship architectural model maker?

To thrive as an Internship Architectural Model Maker, you need a solid understanding of architectural concepts, spatial visualization, and basic model-making techniques, usually supported by coursework in architecture or design. Familiarity with tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, CAD software, and hand tools is essential for constructing accurate models. Attention to detail, creativity, and strong communication skills help you interpret design briefs and collaborate with team members. These skills ensure that models effectively communicate design intent and support the architectural design process.

What are some common challenges faced during an architectural model making internship, and how can I prepare for them?

Interns in architectural model making often encounter challenges such as mastering precise cutting and assembly techniques, working with a variety of materials, and managing tight deadlines for deliverables. Attention to detail and patience are essential, as small mistakes can impact the accuracy of a model. To prepare, familiarize yourself with common model-making tools, practice reading architectural drawings, and develop good time management habits. Being open to feedback and collaborating with experienced model makers will also help you overcome initial hurdles and grow in the role.

Job description

Why Keyrus, Why Now!

Keyrus is an international group of 2,800 consultants and experts across 28 countries, built on a single conviction: AI does not transform businesses. Architected intelligence does. For more than 30 years, we have been building the data foundations that make intelligent systems work — designing the Operating System of the intelligent enterprise, where intelligence is embedded into the core of business processes to create sustainable value: we operationalise intelligence.

AI does not replace humans. It repositions us to a place no system can follow: understanding, deciding, designing, and creating. At Keyrus, you will not just develop skills - you will develop judgment. Your expertise sharpens with every system you architect, every client challenge you solve, every deployment that compounds on the last.

Over time, you grow into one of the rarest professionals of the intelligence era: someone who bridges data, AI, and human decision-making at scale, across industries and geographies. This is not a role you fill. It is a discipline you master and a story you help write to become a Keyrus Architect of Intelligence.

Technology amplifies. Keyrus culture differentiates. Industrial discipline connects the two.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote / Hybrid – Chicago, New York, Toronto (Canada)

What You'll Architect

As an Anaplan Solutions Architect, you will design and deliver enterprise planning solutions that help organizations improve decision-making, planning accuracy, and operational performance. Working closely with business stakeholders and delivery teams, you'll translate complex planning requirements into scalable Anaplan architectures that support long-term business growth.

Solution Architecture & Design

- Architect scalable Anaplan solutions that align business objectives with enterprise planning strategies.

- Design solution architecture, model structures, data flows, security, and system configurations following Anaplan best practices.

- Translate business processes into technical designs, configuration strategies, and implementation roadmaps.

- Ensure solution scalability, maintainability, and long-term performance across client environments.

Client Delivery & Consulting

- Lead discovery sessions to understand business requirements and define implementation strategies.

- Guide clients through solution design, data mapping, testing, deployment, and user acceptance activities.

- Identify delivery risks, requirement gaps, and technical dependencies while driving successful project outcomes.

- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to deliver planning solutions that support measurable business outcomes.

Technical Leadership

- Serve as the technical authority throughout the implementation lifecycle, providing guidance on architecture, configuration, integrations, and best practices.

- Mentor consultants and model builders to strengthen delivery quality and technical capability across project teams.

- Contribute to design standards, implementation methodologies, and reusable solution assets.

- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Anaplan practice.

Planning Innovation & Business Growth

- Support solution demonstrations, client workshops, and pre-sales activities by presenting planning capabilities and architectural approaches.

- Collaborate on project planning, prioritization, scope definition, timelines, and delivery milestones.

- Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve existing planning models and solution performance.

- Help clients maximize the long-term value of their Connected Planning investments.

Who You Are

- You enjoy solving complex planning challenges by combining technical expertise with business understanding.

- You think beyond model building, designing scalable planning solutions that support organizational decision-making.

- You communicate confidently with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive audiences.

- You approach ambiguity with structure, helping clients navigate complex planning requirements.

- You enjoy mentoring others and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and delivery excellence.

- You take ownership of your work while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful outcomes.

What You Bring

- Experience with multidimensional modeling, financial planning, analytics, or business intelligence solutions.

- Knowledge of business process analysis, requirements gathering, and technical documentation.

- Experience supporting data mapping, security configuration, integrations, system testing, and user acceptance testing.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project coordination skills.

- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

- Experience with Financial Consolidation, Financial Reporting, Sales Performance Management, Supply Chain Planning, Enterprise Operational Planning, or Management Reporting.

- Experience working within Agile or other Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.

- Knowledge of SQL, ANSI SQL, MySQL, Oracle PL/SQL, PartiQL, AWS, or SAS.

- Experience with ETL platforms such as Informatica, SnapLogic, or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

- Familiarity with Sales Performance Management solutions.

- Experience contributing to pre-sales activities, RFP responses, and solution demonstrations.

- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

What Makes You Successful

- You communicate complex planning concepts in a way that builds confidence with both technical and business stakeholders.

- You balance technical excellence with practical delivery, designing solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to business goals.

- You proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities to improve project outcomes.

- You build trusted client relationships through thoughtful consulting, strong technical expertise, and reliable execution.
