About the Role
For Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) and Quality and Assurance (UQA) Teams
Role: HIX/UQA Testing Support Intern
The EHS-IT team supporting the MassHealth (MH) within the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EHS) is seeking an Health Insurance Exchange (HIX)/Quality Assurance (UQA) Testing Support Intern . The person hired for this position will provide structures support to Health Insurance Exchange (HIX)UQA team by assisting with test preparation, execution, documentation and coordination activities, while giving the intern hands-on experience with state systems, QA processes, Agile project workflows and basic automation flows.
The primary work location for this role will be at 100 Hancock St, Quincy, Massachusetts 02171. The work schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 8:00AM to 4:00PM EST. This position is expected to follow a hybrid model of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with test case development, including reviewing requirements, drafting basic test scenarios, and updating existing scripts.
  • Support test execution by running supervised functional, regression, and verification tests across designated systems.
  • Perform test data setup and environment checks to ensure readiness prior to test cycles.
  • Track defects and follow ups, coordinating with BAs, Developers, and UQA team members to confirm status and retest fixes.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications :
  • Strong attention to detail for reviewing documentation, validating data, and confirming system outputs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for notes, summaries, and cross-team coordination.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and work within established MMIS workflows.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/365 tools, especially Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint. Basic understanding of information systems, business processes, or public administration from coursework.
  • Analytical thinking to identify discrepancies, interpret requirements, and support operational reviews.

  • Undergraduate or graduate student

Additional Information:
  • Internship Timeframe: June - August 2026
  • Hours: 8:00AM to 4:00PM

  • Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.
  • All interns will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.
  • The salary for this position is $19 an hour.
