Job description

Responsibilities:

The Junior Buyer is responsible for supporting purchasing operations by managing purchase orders, maintaining accurate ERP data, and coordinating supplier activity to ensure timely delivery of goods. This role partners with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues, track orders, and support efficient supply chain processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Review requisitions for goods and services for accuracy.
  • Order office supplies for the Libertyville location and manage the Amazon account.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
  • Expedite and de-expedite orders as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Manage vendor master data updates and maintain current tax-exempt certificates.
  • Maintain accurate planning data within the ERP system to support purchasing activities.
  • Place orders with vendors in SAP on a daily or as-needed basis.
  • Update SAP with vendor-confirmed due dates in a timely manner.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain purchasing records in alignment with established procedures.
  • Track all inbound deliveries and assist with discrepancies.
  • Investigate issues related to blocked invoices and accounts payable discrepancies.
  • Process vendor returns in SAP within a 30-day turnaround.
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with administrative duties related to the product lifecycle process.
  • Actively support the department’s goals and initiatives through daily responsibilities.
  • Research and communicate effectively with suppliers to obtain pricing and specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant internship or some purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-through on assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to support team members and work with vendors.

Target Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000 salary a year. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for competitive benefits, including paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, disability benefits and 401(k).
