Job description

We are seeking a Google Cloud Jr. Admin to join our fast-paced IT operations team. In this role, it is essential to maintain and support our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure; you will be on the front lines of managing, monitoring, and optimizing foundational GCP resources. This also includes working closely with our GCP cloud engineers to support real-world initiatives, such as building GCP infrastructure, managing costs, allocating resources, and laying the groundwork for AI integrations like Gemini Enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day administration, monitoring, and support of ALLO Fiber's GCP infrastructure and services.
  • Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, permissions, and security policies within the cloud environment.
  • Actively track, analyze, and report on GCP usage and billing to support ongoing cost-optimization initiatives.
  • Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources and AI tools.
  • Maintain and update internal cloud governance documentation, knowledge bases, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the broader IT Service Management (ITSM) and software development teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 emergency support.

Education and Requirements

  • Formal GCP Cloud foundations training via Cloud Skills Boost or equivalent.
  • A foundational understanding of general cloud computing concepts for GCP.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a customer and team-first mindset.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., CLI, Bash, or Terraform).
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management platforms (like Jira Service Management) and cloud billing analysis.
  • A completed undergraduate degree (bachelor's degree or equivalent) in any field of study, which has helped build strong foundational skills in critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and structured communication.
