This position is for a Senior Software Engineer to join our healthcare imaging and informatics team.

This opportunity is to develop software solutions to empower medical professionals in the fields of radiology and cardiology to help them effectively diagnose patients.

As part of the Visualization Team, the role will work on innovative imaging technologies to present medical images and their associated data to healthcare practitioners.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with a talented and diverse group of team members to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components, working with Microsoft and cloud technologies.
  • Focus on creating complex imaging solutions that combine advanced visualizations with data integration to provide effective diagnostic tools for clinicians.
  • Report to a Software Development Manager and work with other experienced team members within a structured, quality focused development environment.
  • Apply industry best practices for software design, coding, and testing to address real-world challenges in healthcare technology.
  • Show a strong understanding of project priorities, deliverables and timelines while effectively managing and tracking time to ensure successful completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to coordinate assignments, share updates on progress and communicate any risks or challenges that arise.
  • Prioritize medical patient safety throughout the software development process by adhering to all established guidelines and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, applicable ISO 13485 standard requirements and all other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications

  • BS or BE in computer related field or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of Full Stack software development experience
  • Direct experience of developing software using the Microsoft Technology Stack - C#, C++, .NET Framework, .NET Core, TypeScript
  • Candidates with experience in the following technologies will be given preference:
    • Medical applications, especially working with DICOM, FHIR, HL7
    • WebView2
    • Windows Application Development
    • Oracle database development using PL/SQL, SQL.
    • Full-Stack Web Development, including Front-end Development Frameworks and/or Back-end Development and APIs, Cross-Browser and Cross-Platform Compatibility, Web Security Best Practices, Cloud-Hosted Web Solutions.
    • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cognitive Computing and Intelligent Systems.
    • Cloud Platforms Expertise including Cloud-Hosted Web Solutions, Cloud Infrastructure and Services, Cloud Security and Compliance.
    • Version Control and Collaboration - Git, GitHub, TFS
    • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create effective documentation and presentations as well as to actively contribute to team discussions

Physical requirements

The position requires the ability to perform the following physical demands and/or have the listed capabilities:

  • The ability to sit 75-100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to use your hands and fingers to feel and manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to stand, talk, and hear for 25% of applicable work time.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to ten pounds up to 20% of applicable work time.
  • Close Vision: The ability to see clearly at twenty inches or less.

Travel

  • Occasional (up to 10%) travel may be required based on business need.
