Job description

LeaderStat is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Coos Bay, Oregon.

Pay: USD $45.00 - $70.00/hour (dependent on experience; union position—rate determined by years of experience and non-negotiable)

Shift Notes: Day Shift or Night Shift // 12hr/36hrs/week // 80-hours per two-week pay period

Within the Registered Nurse scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the RN applies the nursing process to provide safe, evidence-based care for intermediate/progressive care patients. The RN documents care in the electronic medical record, provides patient and family education, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and optimize patient outcomes. The RN responds effectively to patient changes, crisis, and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring intermediate/progressive acuity nursing care.
  • Administer medications and treatments per orders and policy; escalate changes in condition promptly.
  • Provide education to patients and significant others; support discharge planning and care transitions.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapy services, case management, and other team members.

Skills and Abilities

  • Read, write legibly, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-changing environment.
  • Effective teaching and patient engagement skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Computer proficiency including internet use, word processing, and EMR documentation.
  • Reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance.

Education / Certifications / Licenses

  • Active Oregon RN license.
  • American Heart Association BLS (Healthcare Provider) required.
  • American Heart Association ACLS required or must be obtained by the last day of the month after a 6-month grace period.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of RN experience.
  • 2–3 years of Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • Acute care experience within the past two years or intermediate/progressive care experience preferred.
