Position Overview:

SmartChoice Communications is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support the growth of SmartTile, our proprietary network operations and automation platform.

The Sales Engineer serves as the technical expert throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Executives, Enterprise Solutions Executives, Channel Partners, and prospective customers to demonstrate how SmartTile helps organizations gain complete visibility, automate incident management, reduce operational workload, and improve network performance.

This role is focused exclusively on SmartTile and is responsible for technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofโ€‘ofโ€‘concepts (POCs), technical validation, and customer enablement. The ideal candidate can translate complex technical capabilities into clear business outcomes for IT leaders, network engineers, MSPs, and enterprise executives.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Discovery & Solution Design
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects and customers.
  • Assess existing network monitoring, ticketing, documentation, and operational workflows.
  • Identify customer pain points, operational inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
  • Design SmartTile solutions tailored to enterprise, MSP, multiโ€‘site, education, healthcare, and retail environments.
  • Develop solution architectures, integration strategies, and deployment recommendations.
Product Demonstrations
  • Deliver compelling live demonstrations of SmartTile.
  • Showcase SmartTile capabilities including:
  • Network visibility and monitoring
  • Automated carrier ticketing
  • ITSM integrations
  • ServiceNow integrations
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Multiโ€‘site management
  • AIโ€‘powered operational automation
  • Customize demonstrations to address specific customer requirements and use cases.
Proofโ€‘ofโ€‘Concept Management
  • Lead technical evaluations and pilot deployments.
  • Define success criteria with customers.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities with implementation teams.
  • Monitor adoption and technical outcomes during trial periods.
  • Present findings and business impact assessments to stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales teams to advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Support RFPs, technical proposals, and customer presentations.
  • Assist with pricing discussions from a technical perspective.
  • Provide competitive differentiation against platforms such as Auvik, PRTG, SolarWinds, Datadog, Domotz, and other monitoring solutions.
  • Serve as the trusted technical advisor throughout the buying journey.
Customer & Partner Enablement
  • Train customers, channel partners, MSPs, and internal teams on SmartTile capabilities.
  • Develop technical content, best practices, and useโ€‘case documentation.
  • Support webinars, trade shows, partner events, and executive briefings.
  • Gather product feedback and communicate enhancement opportunities to product and engineering teams.
Technical Expertise & Product Advocacy
  • Stay current on SmartTile product enhancements and roadmap initiatives.
  • Maintain expertise across:
  • Network infrastructure
  • Routing and switching
  • SDโ€‘WAN
  • Internet connectivity
  • ITSM platforms
  • Act as the voice of the customer within SmartChoice.
Required Skills, Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Consulting.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • TCP/IP Networking
  • WAN and Internet services
  • SDโ€‘WAN
  • Routing and Switching
  • SNMP
  • Network Monitoring Platforms
  • IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to executive and technical audiences.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and discovery skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software, SaaS, networking, telecommunications, or managed services sales.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ServiceNow, ConnectWise, ManageEngine, or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Familiarity with carrier services and telecommunications environments.
  • Experience supporting MSPs, VARs, or channel partners.
  • Knowledge of network automation and AIโ€‘driven operational workflows.
