Overview

Verathon® is looking for a Sr. Program Manager to become the newest member of our UBU R&D team located in Bothell, WA. This role is expected to work primarily on-site at our Bothell facility and will lead the development of an exciting new program targeted at improving patient outcomes in a common urological procedure – offering the opportunity to shape a product from concept through commercialization within Verathon's established NPD framework. The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing new product development (NPD) programs. This includes planning and managing program budget, expenses, schedule, and requesting resources from cross‑functional managers. Utilizing Verathon's NPD process and Quality Management System, the Sr. Program Manager will successfully take programs from concept through commercialization. This person will function as the program leader, owner, and single point of contact for organizational stakeholders involved with the program.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage program execution and deliverables – scope, schedule, and costs
  • Core team leader for assigned NPD programs
  • Partner with functional managers to ensure sufficient resources are identified and allocated to the program
  • Collaborate with core team to define program scope, development budget, and determine timelines
  • Establish master program schedule and milestones
  • Coordinate OPEX, capital, and prototyping expenses and articulate justifications of these expenses to leadership
  • Proactively identify and create plans to mitigate program risks
  • Understand the cross‑functional implications on the customer experience and overall satisfaction
  • Provide regular and timely communication of program status and progress towards goals
  • Implement new technologies to advance medical device designs using appropriate materials and processes that can be transferred to production and manufacturing
  • Participate in business operations activities such as supplier agreements, cost‑reduction requests, and NPD roadmap planning
  • Maintain team member accountability for achieving expectations and completing assignments
  • Apply advanced knowledge of program management tools and methodologies: Agile, Visual and Daily management, core teams; risk management, V&V model, and change management
  • Continuously improve product development for NPD programs
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to less experienced program managers
  • Regularly interact with Executive Leadership Team, vendors, and contract manufacturers regarding program status, issues, and coordination
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technical field of study; master’s or advanced engineering degree preferred; PMP certification preferred
  • 8+ years of leading technical product development using an NPD process
  • 3+ years leading cross‑functional technical teams, including engineering, through product development
  • Experience navigating new product introductions in a regulated industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with a bias toward action
  • Ability to negotiate and influence multi‑disciplinary teams and personnel
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with an emphasis on analysis and resolution of complex technical issues across teams and functional areas
  • Proven success in building and driving projects within a large, complex program, including managing international, multi‑cultural, and virtual cross‑functional teams
  • Comfortable partnering with senior leaders to drive strategy, planning, and process improvements
  • Technical experience with miniaturized imaging systems, or medical visualization technologies preferred
  • Product development experience with medical devices specific to diagnostic imaging preferred
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and principles
  • Proficiency with key tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, or equivalent
  • Travel up to 15% of the time is required, including outside of country

Salary range - $153,802 - $193,900 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).

Full‑time employees who are not on a commission plan are eligible for Verathon’s annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
