Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Gameplay Engineer, you will be responsible for creating architecture that enables compelling gameplay in a large open world, while supporting both single player and multiplayer environments. You will define, build, and maintain modular plugins and project integrations within Unreal Engine 5 to ensure scalable, high-performance player experiences.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in cross-disciplinary pods, acting as the technical owner for critical gameplay features.
  • Architect systems that empower other engineers and content creators to iterate quickly on top-quality gameplay experiences.
  • Design code paths that work elegantly with all of Unreal Engine's network models.
  • Contribute to internal shared technology used by projects across the organization.
  • Write readable, high quality, efficient C++ code.
  • Maintain, debug, profile, and bug fix code to achieve the best quality and performance.
  • Document code and work, create debug tools for other developers, and create tests to cover existing functionality.
Qualifications
  • Deep proficiency in C++ programming
  • Extensive knowledge of Unreal Engine and the ability to mentor others in Unreal. 
  • Substantial networking experience and understanding of multiplayer gameplay architecture.
  • Knowledge of game engine architecture and algorithms.
  • Understanding of testing strategies for multiplayer development.
  • Clear and effective communication: We have a multilingual and multicultural working environment and the ability to communicate across language and time zone barriers is essential.

Nice to have

  • Shipped at least one Unreal-based game, particularly with networked or multiplayer modes.
  • Experience developing for recent generation consoles.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing bandwidth.

Estimated pay range for this position: $118,800 - $217,800 USD annually.

The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Final offers are dependent on job-related factors like experience, qualifications, and location.
