We are looking for a Technician - Drilling to join our Springfield, MO team.

Responsibilities
Deliver the OWN Experience every day by focusing on what drives our
success-Clients, OWNers, Safety, Quality, and Financial Health.
Operate drilling equipment, including drill rigs and associated machinery, following
established safety protocols and operating procedures.
Perform drilling operations, such as soil and rock sampling, core drilling, and
installation of monitoring wells, ensuring accurate and high-quality data collection.
Assist with the set-up and mobilization of drilling equipment and tools to project
sites, including assembling and disassembling drill rigs, and preparing drilling fluids.
Conduct drilling activities in accordance with project plans and specifications, under
the guidance of a Drilling Supervisor or Project Manager.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of drilling equipment, ensuring
proper functioning and identifying any repair or maintenance needs.
Collect and handle soil and rock samples, properly labeling and packaging them for
laboratory testing and analysis.
Assist in conducting in-situ tests, such as standard penetration tests (SPT) or cone
penetration tests (CPT), and record accurate test data for further analysis.
Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for
yourself, colleagues, and other project personnel.
Maintain organized and accurate drilling logs, documenting drilling progress,
equipment usage, encountered subsurface conditions, and other relevant information.
Collaborate with the geotechnical engineering team to provide support during field
investigations, including test pits, borehole logging, and instrumentation installations.
Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices, ensuring proper
containment and disposal of drilling waste materials.
Assist in site restoration activities, including backfilling boreholes, grading, and
reseeding, to restore project sites to their original condition.
Participate in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to enhance
safety awareness and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certifications in drilling
operations is preferred.
Previous experience as a Drilling Technician or similar role, preferably in the
geotechnical or environmental drilling field.
Knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and drilling fluids commonly used in
geotechnical investigations.
Familiarity with drilling equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of soil and rock classification, as well as drilling and sampling
methods.
Strong commitment to safety, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy equipment
and materials, and working in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection, recording, and reporting.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
environment.
Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
Physical capacity requirement.
Willingness to travel to project sites and work overtime as required.
