Why This Role Matters
The Quality Assurance Representative II plays a critical role in protecting customer assets, minimizing claims liability, and ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient inspection and processing of Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs). This position directly supports operational excellence by independently assessing vehicle conditions, documenting damages, maintaining compliance with Global Privately Owned Vehicle Contract (GPC) standards, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the vehicle transportation and storage process.
What You Will Do
  • Independently inspect and inventory inbound, outbound, and stored vehicles for condition and content using Vehicle Inspection Forms (VIF) in accordance with International Auto Logistics (IAL) and GPC procedures.
  • Interpret vehicle damages and apply specification codes to a wide variety of standardized vehicles.
  • Thoroughly document all exterior and interior damages, conditions, and discrepancies using written reports and vehicle photographs.
  • Conduct joint inspections with customers to identify and remove unauthorized or prohibited items.
  • Ensure all loose items are removed and properly packed for transport.
  • Verify that POVs are in safe and fully operational condition for transportation and handling.
  • Confirm Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), record mileage, and measure tire tread depth on all wheels.
  • Measure vehicle dimensions, including ground clearance and overall size, to ensure compliance with transportation limitations.
  • Verify fuel and fluid levels meet shipment and storage requirements.
  • Inspect and inventory factory-installed and aftermarket audio, video, and navigation equipment, including recording brand names and model numbers.
  • Inspect batteries for brand, voltage, condition, amperage, and manufacture year, and record findings on the GPC Storage Checklist.
  • Test vehicle systems including brakes, parking brake, clutch, air conditioning, and heater for operability.
  • Identify and report fluid leaks, damages, discrepancies, and unusual conditions to supervisors.
  • Plastic wrap keys, baby car seats, and other designated items for protection during shipment.
  • Wash customer vehicles prior to pickup and remove all shipping-related coverings, stickers, and markings.
  • Mount and remove license plates as required.
  • Change or replace flat tires when necessary.
  • Safely drive, stage, park, and move vehicles throughout the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).
  • Load and unload shipping containers while maintaining safety standards.
  • Maintain inspection and staging areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Conduct final inspections and jointly review vehicle condition with customers during pickup.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and explain documented damages and inspection findings clearly and professionally.
  • Support supervisors and Site Assistant Project Managers by recommending established methods and practices that improve repair coordination and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with all operational, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Successfully attain and maintain an acceptable score on the Global VPC Exam annually.

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience required.
  • Previous experience in vehicle inspections, automotive operations, transportation logistics, or quality assurance preferred.

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to independently assess and document vehicle damages and conditions.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle inspection procedures, methods, and documentation practices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately complete Vehicle Inspection Forms (VIF).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to operate cameras, iPads, or other digital devices for vehicle documentation.
  • Have a valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old.
  • Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility access credentials and successfully complete background checks as required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime during peak operational periods.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify damages, discrepancies, and safety concerns.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced operational environments while maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
