About The Position
TherapyNotes is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, build, and evolve scalable, secure, and maintainable SaaS applications and services. This full-stack role contributes to responsive user interfaces, business logic, APIs, integrations, and data access throughout the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, QA, product, and UX partners to translate business and user needs into reliable, user-centered solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals and technical judgment with demonstrated success using AI and agentic development tools, a commitment to continuous learning, and the initiative to turn new approaches into measurable improvements in quality and delivery velocity.
What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, test, release, and maintain responsive web applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, and data-access components.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including discovery, estimation, planning, implementation, testing, code review, release, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, QA, product, UX, security, and compliance partners to turn business and user needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Guide architecture and design decisions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, security, privacy, maintainability, and usability.
  • Write and review clear, well-tested code, establish reusable engineering patterns, assess technical tradeoffs, and diagnose complex production issues.
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic development tools to improve engineering quality, productivity, and delivery velocity while applying appropriate validation, security, privacy, and human review.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and responsibly apply new tools, technologies, and engineering practices, including AI and automation, to improve our products, architecture, and software delivery.
  • Mentor developers and support onboarding, knowledge sharing, and continuous growth across the engineering team.

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience in an Agile, team-based environment, including ownership of complex production systems from technical design through release and operational support.
  • 3+ years developing responsive web applications.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or software engineering.
  • Demonstrated professional use of AI-assisted and agentic development tools, with specific examples of improved software quality and delivery velocity.
  • Ability to validate AI-generated work, apply appropriate guardrails and human review, and use AI tooling responsibly in secure environments.
  • Strong full-stack experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS/SASS, or comparable modern technologies.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and maintainable software architecture.
  • Experience designing and maintaining robust APIs and distributed services using service-oriented and event-driven architectural principles.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases and Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM framework.
  • Experience shaping architecture and design decisions and working across automated testing, code review, release management, and production support.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, microservices, and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Mobile or cross-platform development experience with Ionic, Capacitor, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience building AI-enabled product features, LLM integrations, agentic workflows, automation frameworks, developer tools, or internal productivity platforms.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, behavioral health software, EHR systems, or another regulated environment, including familiarity with HIPAA.
