Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Architect, design, and develop enterprise-scale web applications and backend services with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability which can run on both private and public cloud environments. Automate workflows and build processes using scalable build systems and custom configuration scripting languages. Design and optimize relational databases, automate schema changes and data migrations. Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning models, including model governance and retrieval-augmented generation, into development and deployment pipelines. Implement real-time messaging and streaming solutions for event-driven data processing. Design, implement, support graph-based data models, algorithms for efficient data traversal, and custom rate limiting mechanisms to ensure system stability and performance. Architect distributed caching and data storage solutions to enhance performance and scalability. Apply security protocols such as token-based authentication and identity management to safeguard APIs and data. Design fault tolerant systems using cloud-native features and best practices on cloud native environments to minimize downtime and data loss. Monitor and optimize application performance using observability and analytics platforms. Provide on-call support and incident management using service desk and workflow automation tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Architecting, designing, and developing large-scale web applications and backend services using Java, Kotlin, J2EE, and Spring Boot including Spring MVC, Data JPA, Security, REST, and Hibernate to deliver secure, scalable solutions for complex business requirements; Developing command-line interface (CLI) tools in Go to automate software development and operational workflows, including deployment automation and system monitoring, for a large internal developer community; Writing and maintaining build and configuration scripts using Bazel and Starlark to streamline and standardize the build process for multi-module applications; Integrating AI/ML models and large language models (LLMs), including Model Control Processes (MCPs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAGs), into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows to enhance automation and decision-making capabilities; Architecting and optimizing caching and data storage solutions with Redis, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Oracle, and Aurora, including automating database deployments with Liquibase and managing data access with JPA; Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Groovy, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Snyk, and AquaScan to automate build, test, and deployment processes, and ensure code quality and security compliance for thousands of developers; Utilizing Git, Bitbucket, and JFrog Artifactory for version control, code review, and artifact management in collaborative development environments; Designing and implementing real-time data processing solutions using Kafka, including configuring topics, producers, and consumers for event-driven architectures; Implementing security best practices and securing APIs using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Spring Security to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards; Designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems on AWS Cloud using Terraform, EKS, ECS, SNS, and SQS, with the ability to architect scalable and resilient solutions for enterprise applications; Leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Foundry for containerization and orchestration of microservices, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring; Implementing comprehensive testing strategies using JUnit, Karate, Cucumber, Pactflow, Blazemeter, and Gherkin syntax to ensure application reliability and performance under various scenarios; Monitoring and optimizing application performance using DataDog, Dynatrace, and Splunk, including troubleshooting issues and performing root cause analysis to maintain system health; Providing on- call support and incident management using Jira Service Desk and ServiceNow, including timely resolution of production issues and communication with stakeholders.
