Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Salary 90-120K
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead and continuously improve our quality management systems in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and company quality standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement across machining, fabrication, assembly, and inspection operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in CNC machining or heavy manufacturing, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and is passionate about building robust quality systems that support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Quality Control department, including inspectors and quality technicians.
Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality procedures.
Develop, implement, and monitor quality metrics and KPIs.
Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Manage customer audits, supplier audits, and internal quality audits.
Review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, inspection plans, and quality documentation.
Ensure calibration programs are maintained for inspection and measurement equipment.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Support new product introductions and process validations.
Prepare quality reports and communicate performance to executive leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of quality leadership experience in precision machining, CNC manufacturing, heavy industrial manufacturing, or fabrication.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems (AS9100 experience is a plus).
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
Knowledge of CMM inspection, metrology, and precision measurement equipment.
Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and other quality tools.
Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience required.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) is a plus.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
