Job Description


Title: Maintenance / Custodial

Department: Buildings & Grounds

Reports to: CEO or designee

Job Goal: The Maintenance intern position is responsible for the general maintenance of all JCESC buildings in the Steubenville area. Clean, well-maintained buildings are a high priority at the ESC to provide an effective place to work for our staff and a positive first impression for our community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Routine maintenance, care and preservation of the building and grounds.
  2. Perform general maintenance and repairs including the areas of plumbing, heating and air conditioning, painting, carpentry and/or electricity.
  3. Grounds keeping to maintain a pleasant outward appearance to the building; this includes mowing the lawns, hedge trimming, weed whacking, and other lawn maintenance.
  4. Snow removal in the winter.
  5. Custodial duties including cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors, light disinfecting and trash removal throughout the office.
  6. Assist the Director of Technology in supporting the overall activities of information and communication systems including systems analysis, networks and design as related to the Service Centers instructional goals, business operations, student data management and instructional technology.
  7. Assist the technology / Building and Grounds Director with maintenance and safety of all buildings and grounds.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.




Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy.
  2. Maintain respect at all times for confidential information.
  3. Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents.
  4. Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Experience is preferred.
  3. Valid drivers license; commercial drivers license.
  4. Alternative to the above qualifications as the CEO may find appropriate.
