Job Description

The Quality Intern supports the Quality Control team in maintaining product and process quality standards. This role provides hands-on experience in quality systems, data analysis, process improvement, and compliance activities within a manufacturing, industrial, or service environment.

Shift: 1st shift (Hours will vary based on schedule) Monday - Friday w/ overtime as required

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in inspection and testing activities to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications

  • Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to quality metrics (e.g., defects, scrap, yield, rework)

  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams)

  • Help maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records

  • Assist with internal audits and compliance checks

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, supply chain) to address quality issues

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen projects)

  • Track and monitor corrective and preventive actions

  • Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or other related fields.
  • Basic understanding of quality principles and concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Preferred exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies and/or experience with statistical tools or quality software (e.g., Minitab)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ISO, FDA, or other relevant regulations)

Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods in manufacturing facilities

  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment

  • Lifting and carrying objects up to approximately 25 pounds

  • Good visual acuity for inspecting products and reading documents

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
