·         Partner with Underwriting leadership and Learning & Development to identify training needs.

·         Keep curriculum current with changes to guidelines, products, systems, and processes.

·         Provide real-time coaching and support during and after training.

·         Support training related to Conventional, FHA, VA, Non-QM, and other mortgage products.

·         Help evaluate training effectiveness and improve programs based on trainee feedback and performance.

·         Use Microsoft 365 and Encompass or comparable LOS technology in training and daily activities.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications

·         3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.

·         Strong knowledge of mortgage credit analysis and underwriting guidelines.

·        Desire and ability to teach, train and mentor

·         Strong communication, presentation, and classroom facilitation skills.

·         Ability to explain complex underwriting concepts clearly to different experience levels.

·         Experience with Encompass or another mortgage loan origination system.

·         Ability to work 100% onsite in Lake Forest, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience developing training curriculum, job aids, or assessments.

·         Non-QM underwriting experience.

·         Experience with a learning management system.

·         Experience working with Learning & Development teams.

·         Knowledge of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements.

This Role Could Be a Great Fit If You Are

·         A DE, SAR, LAPP, FHA, VA, Conventional, or Non-QM underwriting expert.

·         Someone who regularly helps newer underwriters work through difficult files.

·         An experienced underwriter who wants to move into training and development.

·         A natural presenter who enjoys leading classroom-style training.

·         Someone who can take a complicated guideline and make it easy to understand.

·         An underwriting leader, mentor, or coach who wants to have a broader impact.
