JOB SUMMARY
Position Purpose Summary:
The IT Application Software Engineer Intern supports the Information Technology organization by contributing to the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications and related digital capabilities. Working alongside IT team members and cross-functional stakeholders, the intern helps evaluate business needs, analyze system workflows, and translate requirements into well-defined technical tasks and user-centered solutions that improve usability, reliability, and adoption. The role may include developing or updating application components, configurations, and supporting technical artifacts (e.g., documentation, runbooks, and user support materials), as well as assisting with testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This internship provides hands-on exposure to modern engineering practices within an enterprise IT environment, emphasizing collaboration, attention to detail, and quality delivery.
KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the design and development of application features, user experiences, and supporting technical assets for enterprise systems, applications, and IT processes.
  • Develop, update, and maintain application components and related artifacts (e.g., technical documentation, configuration guides, release notes, and user support materials) using established engineering standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and business subject matter experts to gather requirements, analyze system workflows, and translate needs into well-defined technical specifications and implementation tasks.
  • Support the adoption of business applications, reporting tools, and AI-enabled technologies by contributing to solution design, implementation, and end-user enablement.
  • Maintain and organize project artifacts in source control, ticketing systems, and shared repositories to ensure traceability, version control, and consistency across environments
  • Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and iterative refinement of application features based on stakeholder feedback, defect findings, and user needs.
