Job description

DDC-ITS is seeking a qualified and motivated Web Developer/Application Programmer to support the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). This position provides web programming, application development, database support, documentation, and system administration for AFIT's public and private web-based applications. The selected candidate will support mission-critical systems used for admissions, curriculum management, student and faculty records, institutional research, reporting, recruitment, and communication with current and former students. This role requires a developer who can work directly with customers, translate business needs into technical solutions, and support applications throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities The Web Developer/Application Programmer will: * Maintain and update content, templates, and related web assets for AFIT public-facing and internal web pages. * Design, develop, maintain, and enhance web applications that support AFIT mission requirements. * Train end users on developed applications and processes as needed. * Develop and maintain applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, Oracle APEX / Developer Tools, ColdFusion, Bootstrap, and related web technologies.
* Support database structures, including schemas, tables, views, synonyms, constraints, and related application data.
* Gather customer requirements, analyze business processes, and translate functional needs into technical solutions.
* Work with customers and stakeholders to develop custom web content, application features, administrative interfaces, and reports.
* Provide weekday application support during normal business hours, including troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and user support.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, process documentation, workflow diagrams, interface documentation, user guides, and support materials.
* Test, debug, and refine applications to improve functionality, usability, performance, and reliability.
* Support mobile-compatible applications, responsive web content, and modernized web interfaces.
* Apply and sustain accessibility requirements, including Section 508 compliance and applicable web standards. Required Qualifications * U.S. Citizenship.
* Active Secret security clearance.
* CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within the required contract timeframe.
* 1-3 years of web development, application programming, or related technical experience.
* Experience developing web applications using front-end and back-end technologies such as:
* HTML
* JavaScript
* CSS
* SQL
* jQuery or similar JavaScript libraries
* Ability to support database-driven applications and troubleshoot application or data-related issues.
* Ability to create and maintain technical, user, and process documentation.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, end users, customers, and government stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small, mission-focused team. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with ColdFusion application development.
* Experience with Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, or Oracle Developer Tools.
* Experience with Bootstrap or similar responsive web frameworks.
* Familiarity with database design concepts, including schemas, tables, views, constraints, and related application structures.
* Experience with data analysis, data cleansing, reporting, or business process modeling.
* Experience supporting DoD, Air Force, federal government, or higher education environments.
* Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and web accessibility best practices.
* Experience supporting or interfacing with document management, student information, learning management, or enterprise business systems.
