Intern Streaming Data Engineer information

What does an intern streaming data engineer do?

An Intern Streaming Data Engineer assists in designing, developing, and maintaining systems that process real-time data streams. They typically work with technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Spark Streaming to collect, process, and analyze data as it arrives. Their responsibilities may include writing code, troubleshooting data pipelines, and collaborating with senior engineers to ensure data flows efficiently. The role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience with big data and real-time analytics.

What types of projects or tasks can an intern streaming data engineer expect to work on during their internship?

As an Intern Streaming Data Engineer, you can expect to work on projects involving the development, testing, and optimization of real-time data pipelines. Typical tasks may include assisting with the integration of streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis, writing and debugging code to process large volumes of incoming data, and collaborating with senior engineers to ensure data quality and reliability. You'll often work within a team of data engineers and analysts, gaining hands-on experience with the latest big data tools and contributing to solutions that support real-time analytics and business decision-making.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intern streaming data engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Intern Streaming Data Engineer, you typically need foundational knowledge in computer science, data engineering concepts, and familiarity with real-time data processing. Experience with tools like Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Spark Streaming, and programming languages such as Python or Java, is often preferred. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork and communication abilities help set candidates apart. These skills and qualifications are crucial for efficiently building, maintaining, and troubleshooting streaming data pipelines in dynamic data-driven environments.

What is the difference between Intern Streaming Data Engineer vs Intern Data Analyst?

AspectIntern Streaming Data EngineerIntern Data Analyst
Required SkillsKnowledge of streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming), programming (Python, Java), data pipeline developmentData analysis, SQL, Excel, basic statistical skills
Work EnvironmentDeveloping real-time data pipelines, working with big data toolsAnalyzing stored data, generating reports and insights
Industry UsageTech, finance, e-commerce companies focusing on real-time data processingMarketing, business intelligence, research departments

The Intern Streaming Data Engineer focuses on building and maintaining real-time data pipelines using streaming technologies, requiring programming and big data skills. In contrast, the Intern Data Analyst primarily analyzes stored data to generate insights, emphasizing statistical and reporting skills. Both roles are common in data-driven industries but serve different functions within data management and analysis.

Job description

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Enterprise Architect who can operate across AI, Java, Microservices, AWS, Oracle, and Snowflake, while also providing strategic architectural leadership. The candidate should be comfortable moving between enterprise strategy and deep technical architecture, leading POCs, making technology decisions, and guiding engineering teams toward scalable, secure, and modern solutions.

Enterprise Architect – AI, Full-Stack Java, Microservices, AWS, Oracle & Snowflake

Location: Onsite
Role Type: Enterprise Architecture / Technology Leadership

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with strong expertise in AI, Full-Stack Java, Java Microservices, AWS, Oracle, and Snowflake to design and govern scalable, secure, cloud-native enterprise solutions.

The Architect will translate strategic business objectives into future-ready technology architectures, define target-state platforms and integration patterns, establish enterprise technology standards, and provide architectural governance across application development, data engineering, AI, and cloud infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical depth with enterprise-level architecture leadership, with the ability to guide engineering teams, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive modernization initiatives in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities1. Enterprise & Target-State Architecture
  • Define end-to-end target-state architectures for scalable, resilient, cloud-native enterprise applications and platforms.
  • Design modern architectures leveraging Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS, Oracle, Snowflake, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
  • Develop architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy, modernization goals, and long-term technology direction.
  • Define architectural standards and reusable patterns for application, integration, data, cloud, and AI platforms.
  • Ensure architectures meet stringent performance, scalability, availability, resiliency, and maintainability requirements, including 99.99% availability targets where applicable.
2. Full-Stack Java & Microservices Architecture
  • Provide architectural leadership for Java-based full-stack applications and microservices platforms.
  • Define scalable service architectures using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and event-driven patterns.
  • Establish standards for service decomposition, API design, security, observability, containerization, and deployment.
  • Guide engineering teams on distributed systems, asynchronous processing, messaging, caching, and high-volume transaction processing.
  • Drive modernization of legacy applications toward cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
3. AI & Generative AI Architecture
  • Design enterprise-grade architectures incorporating Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and AI-powered copilots.
  • Define secure integration patterns between AI services, enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and knowledge repositories.
  • Establish AI architecture guardrails covering data privacy, model security, prompt management, context management, latency, scalability, and responsible AI.
  • Design RAG architectures that enable secure retrieval of enterprise information while maintaining appropriate data isolation and access controls.
  • Evaluate AI platforms, models, frameworks, and emerging technologies for enterprise adoption and production scalability.
4. Cloud, Data & Integration Architecture
  • Architect and govern solutions leveraging AWS cloud services, Oracle databases, Snowflake, Kafka/AWS Kinesis, APIs, and enterprise integration platforms.
