Engineering Intern
Department: Water/Wastewater
Employment Type: Internship
Location: Tempe, AZ
Description
Wilson Engineers is an Arizona-based firm with a staff of more than 200+ personnel specializing in water and wastewater engineering and construction management services. We are dedicated to delivering ethical, reliable, high quality services to our clients based on innovation, while sustaining a challenging and rewarding work environment for our greatest assets, our employees.
We are seeking an experienced {Job Title} to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
  • Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Attends meetings on project management.
  • Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning the completion of the assigned project.
  • Maintains project file.
  • Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
  • Provide project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCAD.
  • Assists in the preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
  • Assist in the preparation of project drawings.
  • Performs necessary code research.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.

Requirements
  • Possess a strong desire for a career working in the Water and Wastewater field (including the design of treatment facilities, collection systems, booster and pump stations, water, reclaimed water, and wastewater master plans).
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms
