Job Description

The team is responsible for delivering the highest-quality Security products. We seek a lead software developer to develop and produce Python code for the team's manual test plans. In this role, the candidate will develop Python code into a sophisticated framework and develop tests, utilities, and tools. You'll oversee end-to-end automation for testing vDefend Distributed Firewall and ATP, leveraging multithreading, on an aggressive timeline.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust test automation frameworks in Python.

  • Develop high-quality, complex Python tests on a distributed system on a scale and in a private cloud.

  • While developing the code, be a technology expert who provides feedback to manual test engineers.

  • Lead the development of test plans, scripts, and scenarios to validate system functionality, performance, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with development, Manual test engineer, and product teams to define and implement testing strategies for complex software systems.

  • Be a strong advocate of Software Quality & regular follow-up with Developers to get defects in a resolved fix state.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting best practices in software coding, review, and automation.

  • Perform manual testing as needed.

  • Track test & automation deliverables to product release schedules.

Required skillsets

  • Minimum 6 years of strong programming skills in Python, YAML, Bash, and object-oriented programming.

  • Expertise in Python and related testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework).

  • Proven experience in building and optimizing test automation pipelines.

  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

  • Working knowledge of REST APIs.

  • Strong background in networking, security, or cloud-based technologies.

  • Hands-on Experience in system-level testing and performance testing, networking, security, or cloud-based technologies

  • It's a bonus if you are familiar with virtualization, containerization, or cloud platforms like VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to debug complex systems, and Networking troubleshooting/debugging.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of related experience or Master's degree in Engineering Computer Science or equivalent and 6+ years of related experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is$120,000 - $192,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
