Job description

Vast is looking for a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator, reporting to the GSOC Manager. The GSOC Operator plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment at an aerospace facility. 

This is a full-time, non-exempt role at our Long Beach, CA location.

This position is responsible for monitoring databases, CCTV, and technology tools for security threats and operational risks. The GSOC Operator will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination, communication, and execution of security protocol during emergency and crisis situations. The GSOC Operator will also assist with intelligence briefings and travel assessments. This position ensures the safety of employees, visitors, assets, and critical infrastructure while supporting Vast's mission. 

Schedule: 
This is a full-time role with a variable schedule based on operational needs.

  • Primary coverage: weekend night shifts 
  • Schedule may vary week-to-week and may include weekday coverage, holidays, and overtime
  • Schedules will be communicated in advance

This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable working extended shifts and can adapt to changing coverage needs.

Night shift roles may be eligible for a shift pay differential.

Responsibilities: 

  • Use technology systems and applications, including commercially-available databases and social media platforms, to monitor security threats and operational risks to business continuity
  • Monitor a variety of systems, including badge access, computers, and CCTV to ensure the safety and security of Vast employees, facilities, and technology
  • Observe, document, and appropriately escalate any suspicious activity, security violations, or safety concerns
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, dispatching security personnel or emergency responders as needed
  • Escalate security incidents to GSOC leadership when appropriate 
  • Use mass notification systems to disseminate actionable information to company employees during emergency or crisis situations 
  • Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) protocols and procedures, according to company policies
  • Assess threats in real-time and ensure effective coordination, communication, and decision-making during heightened security situations
  • Assist with the research and creation of detailed intelligence briefs, security incident reports, and BOLOs when necessary 
  • Prepare detailed threat assessments and travel advisories in support of company and executive travel.
  • Assist company personnel with safety and security concerns impacting Vast facilities, properties, and equipment
  • Provide security assistance, CCTV monitoring, and risk analysis for special events and operational activities
  • Respond professionally to security-related inquiries, safety concerns, and emergency situations in accordance with company policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support  overall security operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 2+ years experience working in a GSOC or a similar security environment

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence, Security Studies, Computer Science, Political Science, Emergency Management or a related field 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research skills with experience utilizing various databases and social media platforms.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Security experience in an industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing environment
  • Certifications such as ASIS CPP, PSP, or Certified Security Operations Center Analyst (CSOCA).
  • Experience in security operations, law enforcement, military, or emergency response
  • Comprehensive understanding of GSOC policies and procedures and industry best practices
  • Strong knowledge of technology tools and databases, CCTV, and incident response

Pay Range: 

  • Global Security Operations Center Operator I: $23.00 - $33.00
  • Global Security Operations Center Operator II: $27.00 - $39.00
