Position Summary: The
Logistics Analyst Support Intern (LTL) is an entry-level role based in Fremont, OH, offering hands on experience in logistics analytics and daily operations. With guidance from experienced team members, the intern will support data collection, reporting, and process improvement, while gaining exposure to transportation, dispatch, and coordination activities. The role blends practical data driven problem-solving with operational support to improve efficiency and service performance.
This internship is designed to span 10–12 weeks, with scheduling flexibility based on candidate availability; typical weekly hours range from 20–30.
Key Responsibilities:
• Follow Safety First, Safety Always and meet or exceed quality expectations in all work.
• Assist in collecting and organizing transportation and operational data.
• Learn how logistics trends, KPIs, and performance metrics are tracked and analyzed.
• Support the development of basic reports, dashboards, and summaries used by the logistics team.
• Help review data accuracy and system utilization within logistics and operational systems.
• Observe and assist with continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency and reliability.
• Document processes and help identify opportunities for improvement within the transportation department.
• Shadow and assist with daily dispatching, routing, and driver coordination activities.
• Help track shipments and learn how service performance is monitored.
• Assist with maintaining standard operating procedures and documentation.
• Support communication between logistics, operations, and 3rd party logistics carriers.
• Partner with logistics and operations team members to understand business needs.
• Learn how different departments collaborate to support daily operations.
• Assist with user support tasks such as processing documentation, training materials, or system walkthroughs.
Experience:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Prior exposure or a strong interest in the transportation and logistics industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to learn new tools and follow procedures.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail and desire to work in a team-based environment.
• Good time management and ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision after training.
• Aligned with high integrity and strong values
• Coursework or academic projects related to logistics, transportation, or analytics (Preferred)
Education and Certification Qualifications:
• Students, recent graduates, or individuals seeking entry into the field; degree completed or in progress in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
