The Opportunity: 

Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a high-impact Sales Analyst to support the Walmart and Walmart.com businesses. This role goes beyond traditional analytics—it is a business ownership role responsible for driving growth through data, insights, and proactive decision-making.

This position oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting of market, consumer, and shopper data to increase category sales, improve customer satisfaction, and maximize ROI. The role will lead weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and is expected to continuously enhance both recurring and ad hoc analyses.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, high-urgency operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and consistently translates insights into action. This individual will play a critical role in shaping strategy, influencing stakeholders, and identifying growth opportunities across the business.

This role is designed as a launchpad into a direct sales position for top performers who demonstrate strong ownership, leadership, and commercial acumen.

This position is field-based in our Rogers, Arkansas sales office.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Develop Product Expertise

  • Build a deep understanding of the product portfolio
  • Analyze product performance trends, including sales volume, revenue, and profitability across categories
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing) to stay informed on product features, positioning, and lifecycle changes
  • Manage catalog knowledge, serving as the primary point of contact for product details such as launch timing, modular status, and retail placement

Own the Walmart.com Business

  • Lead end-to-end ownership of the Walmart.com business, including item setup, forecasting, order recommendations, and inventory management
  • Develop and manage the POS plan, including year-over-year (YoY) and quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) tracking, identification of headwinds/tailwinds, and gap-closing strategies
  • Drive best-in-class site execution through regular site audits of assortment, content, pricing, and competitive positioning
  • Identify risks and opportunities early, act with urgency, and partner with Retail Marketing to maximize program impact
  • Translate performance data into actionable strategies that support long-term digital growth
  • Own the digital forecast by leveraging historical data, trends, seasonality, and promotional plans; align with cross-functional partners on assumptions, risks, and opportunities
  • Manage order execution in collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) fulfillment

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop and enhance weekly and monthly performance reports on key KPIs (e.g., POS, inventory, sales trends), delivering actionable insights for real-time decision-making
  • Analyze market trends using tools such as Walmart Scintilla, Tableau, and other data sources; clearly articulate the “why” behind performance
  • Build compelling, data-driven presentations for Walmart Merchants, Planners, and Replenishment Managers
  • Support new product launches by tracking performance, comparing results to forecasts, and informing distribution and placement strategies
  • Go beyond reporting to provide clear, actionable recommendations (“so what”)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Walmart, alongside sales leads, to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to support long-term strategies and business planning

Process Improvement

  • Streamline processes by creating standardized operating procedures and leveraging automation tools
  • Continuously enhance analytics capabilities and stay current on industry trends
