EEO and Workplace Investigator

USA Based Remote Independent Contractor Opportunity

Our investigation services are supported by a managed service model that includes investigator recruitment and onboarding, training, case assignment, program management, quality review, performance monitoring, reporting, and executive oversight.

The EEO Investigator will conduct impartial and well-documented investigations involving allegations such as:
  • Discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and other protected characteristics.
  • Harassment, sexual harassment, and hostile work environment concerns.
  • Retaliation and reprisal allegations.
  • Failure to accommodate and religious or disability accommodation matters.
  • Workplace misconduct, professional conduct, ethics, and policy violations.
  • Employee relations and performance management concerns.
  • Conflicts of interest and other workplace complaints.
Investigator Responsibilities
  • Review complaints, allegations, policies, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop investigation plans and identify relevant witnesses and evidence.
  • Conduct professional, impartial, and appropriately sensitive interviews.
  • Prepare interview summaries, affidavits, declarations, and related documentation.
  • Assess evidence objectively and identify inconsistencies or information requiring further inquiry.
  • Maintain organized, complete, and confidential investigation files.
  • Prepare clear, fact-based investigative reports and records of investigation.
  • Meet client deadlines, documentation standards, and quality requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with program managers regarding case progress, risks, and potential delays.
  • Protect personally identifiable information and other confidential or sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of the required 32-hour Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigator training.
  • Completion of the required annual 8-hour Equal Employment Opportunity investigator refresher training.
  • Federal experience conducting or reviewing investigations consistent with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Management Directive 110 and applicable federal requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or reviewing Equal Employment Opportunity, employee relations, workplace misconduct, compliance, or related investigations.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing affidavits, investigative summaries, and records of investigation.
  • Strong interviewing, fact-finding, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain impartial and evaluate conflicting information objectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
  • Proactive with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe Pro, video conferencing platforms, and secure electronic document systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of federal investigation, employee relations, legal, compliance, human resources, or quality review experience.
  • Experience working with federal agencies, large employers, universities, or complex organizations.
  • Experience investigating or reviewing sensitive, complex, or high visibility workplace matters.
  • Professional certifications or advanced training in investigations, human resources, employment law, mediation, compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience reviewing, coaching, or providing feedback to investigators.
  • Experience conducting or reviewing investigations involving multiple witnesses, extensive documentation, or multiple claims.
Engagement Information
  • Remote independent contractor opportunity with the ability to accept and complete 3-5 cases per month.
  • Assignments may be project-based and will depend on client needs, experience, availability, subject matter expertise, and successful completion of HR Anew's qualification process.
  • Must maintain a professional remote work environment, reliable internet access, and the technology necessary to conduct confidential video and telephone interviews.
  • May be required to successfully complete client-specific onboarding, background screening, conflict of interest reviews, training, and certification requirements.
Compensation

Compensation will be based on the number of claims per case to be investigated.
