Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify students' emotional, social, and academic needs, collaborating with teachers and school administrators to develop intervention plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions remotely, addressing issues such as anxiety, grief, and coping strategies related to school stressors.
• Facilitate workshops for students and families to educate them on mental health resources and effective coping mechanisms.
• Coordinate with community organizations and resources to arrange post-intervention support services, ensuring a continuum of care for students after school hours.
• Participate in school-based teams to evaluate and improve programs aimed at promoting students' emotional well-being.
• Document all interactions and interventions, maintaining accurate records per legal standards to track student progress and outcome measures.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to students in distress, creating safety plans tailored to individual needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the school-aged population, specifically targeting students experiencing stressors that impact their educational experience and overall mental health. This role emphasizes early intervention and active engagement with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, recognizing the unique challenges they face in contemporary educational settings.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
• Current active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia.
• Solid understanding of child development, mental health disorders, and effective treatment methodologies for school-age children.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare or educational setting, preferably working with children or adolescents.
• Familiarity with school-based mental health strategies and community resources available for families.
• Experience with telehealth service delivery is strongly preferred, particularly in the capacity of counseling or social work.

Compensation and Benefits
