Quality Control Inspector

Onsite – Gurnee, IL

The Role:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that finished products and raw materials meet quality control requirements. This position interacts with the production, purchasing, and shipping departments.

What You Will Do:

  • Inspect the quality of the raw materials & outsourced products that require incoming inspection
    1. Document defective raw material & outsourced product findings and communicate quality issues to Supply chain, working to resolve the quality issue
  • Check the filling line before each production run to ensure that:
    1. All packaging materials that were used for previous production run were removed from the filling area
    2. Filling line was cleaned and validated (if required)
    3. Correct type of packaging was brought to the filling line
  • Inspect quality of finished products for the following:
    1. fill weight
    2. heat seal
    3. verify color and odor
    4. lot number
    5. application and removal torque
    6. general appearance
    7. pallet configurations
    8. other
  • Document quality control findings.
  • Review daily production batch records
  • Archiving of production records and associated quality documents
  • Train production personnel on quality procedures
  • Work with the production department to resolve quality issues associated with finished products
  • Perform detailed quality control inspection of first runs of new products
