Job description

Kulicke and Soffa Industries (K&S) is seeking  Spring-Summer 2025 interns in process engineering at Santa Ana Office.  We are a leading provider of semiconductor and electronic assembly solutions serving the global automotive, consumer, communications, computing, and industrial markets. K&S Santa Ana office provides major research and development (R&D) resources for new product development of K&S Wedge Bonder equipment and offers customer application assistance. As a process engineering intern, you will work closely with senior process, systems engineers, and other functions on a variety of projects focusing on product viability, systems and process feasibility, and customer field issues. You will receive hands-on training on a variety of tools to support on-going projects and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Here at K&S, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow professionally and develop necessary skills as an engineer while gaining insight into the power semiconductor industry.

-Master's students are preferred, and Senior students are welcomed to apply.

-Ability to work independently and work with staff engineers and technicians on projects.

-Strong organization, multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

-Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical equipment is preferred, but not required.

-Coursework in engineering statistics, data analysis, SEM, CAD, and material science preferred, but not required.

-Basic knowledge of the semiconductor industry and wedge wire bonding preferred, but not required.

-Assist senior engineers and technicians in documenting, testing, and data collection for assigned and on-going projects.

-Conduct destructive and non-destructive tests

-Design and conduct experiments based on internal and/or customer requirements.

-Identify and contact external vendors for quotes and ordering based on project needs.

-Use analytical methods, metrology tools (SEM, Alicona, Image Microscope), data analysis tools (Python, Excel), and troubleshooting skills to solve basic or complex problems.

-Present reports with detailed documentation and concise summaries to senior engineers and managers.
