Intern Python Tester Jobs in Long Branch, NJ (NOW HIRING)

Caregility is seeking an Intern (Part-Time) to work on-site in our Wall Township, NJ location.  This is a paid internship where the candidate will work up to 29 hours per week.  Hybrid or Remote work for this role will not be accepted.  The selected candidate will be responsible for leading a)test planning and execution of functional validations of user stories, regression testing among other functions and Device testing. The tester will be responsible for working with developers to learn more about the implementations and determine how best to test them.  The Tester needs to be a quick learner and employ embedded software / firmware testing and software testing skills. We will expect tester to validate in interface and learn other methods of validation.  The Tester will be responsible working within an Agile Scrum team and assist with user story definition and acceptance criteria definition along with supporting all other Agile Scrum team efforts.  The tester will document, manual test procedures, test plans,  test reports, creating Jira tickets for defects found among any other documentation required. 

 Roles & Responsibilities:  Take an ownership role in various activities, including but not limited to the following:

• Work within an Agile Scrum Team as appropriate and assist with backlog grooming from a test perspective, user story grooming, user story estimating, and define definition of done/acceptance criteria for user stories/tasks.
• Perform embedded software and firmware upgrade testing using manual and automated methods. 
• Versed in different testing techniques: positive, negative, error handling, among other methods.
•  Draft Test Plans and Test Procedures for validating back-end. 
•  Create New/Maintain/Update Test Procedures as required based on new functionality or critical bugs found.
•  Provide feedback on the organization the library of scripts to ensure effective leveraging of these during regression; be able to do pointed regression for minor releases.
•  Ensure metrics can be reported from these tests and are incorporated in Test Reports.
•  Create defects of the applications and assign to developers to work them for resolution.
•  Work with leadership to ensure we are effectively testing the applications and covering any gaps in areas that we should tested.
•  Document Process SOPs for creating and maintaining scripts. 
•  Reach out to the Caregility Clinical team to learn about Clinician Workflows and other methods that the applications should be tested. 
•  Work with a team of testers to share lessons learned, testing best practices and teach other team member testing techniques to improve testing across the applications.

 Skills & Abilities:

• Highly customer oriented.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency.
• Decent understanding of Hardware and Software Testing and/or about 1 year of hands-on experience.
• 1+ years performing manual/functional testing including positive, negative, ad-hoc, error handling testing.
• 1+ years in creating test plans, test procedures and test reports.
• 1+ years working in Agile Scrum Development Environments.
• Experience with Jira or Azure Dev ops.
• Willing to learn new technologies and methods of validation.
• Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast- paced environment that is continually changing. 

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in scientific, health sciences, or equivalent quality related field.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be US citizen or authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to complete background and drug screening
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and lift approx. 25lbs
• Preferred experience testing healthcare applications
• Preferred some programming background preferably with Java or Python
