Join Talent Space and work with our esteemed Automotive direct-client in Long Beach, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the development and maintenance of certification-related tools and processes in the automotive industry.
Summary
The primary function of this role is to support the development and maintenance of certification-related tools and processes. You will assist in creating new programmatic solutions, handling data, and performing data analysis to improve company workflows.
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing and data analysis in the areas of Emissions & OBD, investigate and identify issues, determine root causes, and collaborate within a team environment.
  • Learn emissions and OBD certification activities and identify additional areas within the team where you can effectively contribute value.
  • Identify opportunities within the OBD Certification for automation.
  • Analyze conducted testing in respective areas and create reports for internal and external stakeholders, including CARB.
  • Create data pipelines relevant for agency reporting and analysis.
  • Develop custom tools and drive automation efforts to improve testing, analysis, and reporting efficiency.
  • Present results and findings to upper management and other important stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the team's new initiative of software change management.
  • Support collaboration with global headquarters, R&D departments, and cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to initiatives involving data science, machine learning, and business intelligence for OBD and emissions performance feedback.
  • Build, maintain, and manage Power BI dashboards to visualize emissions, OBD, and certification data for internal stakeholders and management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent 3-5 years of related experience).
  • Detail-oriented mindset and strong project coordination skills required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of CARB OBD2 regulations.
  • Proficiency in Python and related libraries for automation, data processing, and workflow optimization.
  • Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools (INCA, MATLAB).
  • Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of data science methods, including machine learning, data visualization, prediction, and modeling.
  • Ability to author and present clear and concise technical reports for a wide, global audience detailing findings, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Design custom tools to optimize data mining, cleaning, and validation.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with a team is extremely important.
