Job description

Overview

Hexagon is looking for a System Analyst - Digital Signal Processing to join our Defense team. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of algorithms to support our Anti-Jam technology.ย  These algorithsm include anti-jam, direction finding, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers, sensor fusion, and research into solving real-world current electronic warfare counter measures. This role offers the opportunity to work with a highly skilled, cross-functional team on new and current product designs. You will gain a big-picture view of the complete life cycle of ouranti-jam products. You will be deeply involved inย significant aspectsย of the overall design, including RF design and performance optimization. This role requires collaboration with a cross-functional product development team to identify and mitigate risk, and to ensure that the design meets its functional, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based on-siteย in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As a Digital Signal Processing Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing system analysis through modelling, simulation, as-built characterization, test-to-fail, targeted performance trade-offย analysis, etc.
  • Assessing cross-domain dependencies, including the simulation and modelling of system components to allow data-driven decisions for optimal system performance
  • Investigating system impairment through simulation, analysis, and Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Actively participating in pre-development and early engineering activities
  • Exploring and participating in the derivation of system, hardware, and software performance requirements
  • Providing consultation to product life cycle support teams through analysis of characterization and sustaining data for our fielded products
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement and application of systems analysis processes, best practices, and tools
  • Developing analysis tools through scripting, graphing, and other means
  • Gaining an understanding of the system through development of test/characterization plans
  • Determining meaningful approaches to test set-up, test automation, test execution, data collection, and data analysis
  • Conducting design and test reviews with a cross-functional design and test team
  • Presentation of test/analysis results, including recommendations
Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • B.Sc. or M. Sc. in Engineering or equivalent education
  • 5+ years experience in a high technology, product development environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to achieve Canadian Controlled Goods security status

  • Hands on experience using specialized lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, complex signal generators, GNSS constellation simulators, and data logging applications
