  • It is not an engineer or electrician but it is for someone with knowledge in those areas.
  • This is a lab type setting for building fabrications of boxes to put in buildings.
  • The last person, Steve Davis, is mechanical and able to build prototype machines or equipment to see if that setup helps build better design for solutions for buildings.
  • They may build out a box to certain size specs and then work to see if certain electrical components would fit it in even though it doesn’t run live electricity through it.
  • The will use mechanical knowledge, some electrical knowledge, some fabrication knowledge and follow some schematics or start from fresh.
  • Possible match may be someone that was in aviation or military that worked on equipment (giving them mechanical knowledge or sheet metal fabrication), then worked on electrical components like generators or avionics, got a CDL / Forklift training or cert, and left to be civilian mechanical or electrical person.
  • Maybe went to college over time getting an associates or journeyman cert.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute assigned MAS tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to established standards.
  • Set up, maintain, and perform modifications on MAS mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct basic analysis & troubleshooting of prototype electronic circuits.
  • Support the upkeep of a clean, safe, and well‑organized MAS and laboratory environment.
  • Utilize standard test and measurement tools to analyze physical dimensions.
  • Use multimeters and power supplies to analyze.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, lifting devices, and industrial scales used in transporting and positioning heavy and/or oversized equipment.
  • Apply proper approved lifting techniques when handling large, bulky, or non‑standard components.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and concise documentation related to prototype builds, inventory activity, and shipping/receiving processes.
  • Maintain MAS equipment & some laboratory equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Adhere to all departmental procedures, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
