Summary

Come join us at Corporate HQ in Salisbury, MD, for Winter break 2026/2027 for a 4-6 week internship in Perdue's Internal Audit department!

Perdue's Internal Audit department plays a vital role in helping the business achieve its strategic, financial, and operational objectives. The audit function is designed to add value to Perdue's operations by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and advance the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes which is accomplished through both consulting and assurance activities.

This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with compliance testing for the Company's SOX/Internal Controls program
  • Assist in the execution of financial, information technology, and operational audits
Minimum Education
  • Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study. Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems majors preferred
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher
Experience Requirements
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software
  • Possess strong analytical, communication, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. 
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 
  • May need to climb ladders.
